Book Review | Golden Lily by Richelle Mead

Sometimes I ask myself why I read, and then I finish a book and smile.

She wonders how she's supposed to strike a balance between the principles and dogmas she's been taught, and what her instincts are now telling her.

Should she trust the Alchemists—or her heart?

My Thoughts: Well well well. This book certainly is something. At first when I was reading it I started to get a little worried when I hit a few chapters in and nothing had really happened. However, I am so glad I kept on reading! Sydney got a boyfriend, which honestly I never thought would happen due to her mental capabilities but he was basically a male version of her, which in itself was quite awesome. I loved all the hints we got about Adrian having a crush on Sydney and those feelings being pushed through the bond and Jill acting like she had a crush on her too – Hello Sydney wake up! How she didn’t get it from that I don’t know. I liked the twist about the Alchemists and I love that we are seeing more of them in these books. It’s wonderful to see more of a world I love.

I do not like Angeline. I loved that she tried to go all Keeper on Eddie and show her affection but they shouldn’t be together, Eddie and Jill please! He seemed so cute about it. I want Angeline to be happy – just not with Eddie.

Lia needs a dose of Sydney. I liked that there was spin and she managed to get a photo of Jill but I am really looking forward to some feighty retaliation from Sydney, I reckon she has in it her. Along with Mrs Terwilliger I like that she’s trying to introduce Sydney to magic, however I don’t think she should do it so forcefully.

I am definitely eager to read the next book in this series!
Looks like I’ll be buying myself the next three soon!
