Make Up Revolution

After a few days of debating whether I actually needed some more make-up I decided the super drug 3for2 offer was just too good to pass up. I had heard a lot about the new brand of make up, Make Up Revolution, and decided that I had to get my hands on a few of these goodies - which turned out to be quite a lot. These items are not hard on the wallet and at 3for2 it was hard for me to say no.

I firstly got these three items, I would have bought more but I decided I had already gone a little bit too mad. I had been looking for a good pink blush that wasn't shimmery, too bright or not enough colour and so I snagged these two along with a matte bronzer!

From Left to Right: Vivid Baked Blush - All I Think About Is You, Vivid Baked Bronzer - Ready To Go, Vivid Baked Blush Loved Me The Best.

I used the bronzer and All I Think About Is You blush on saturday night when I went out with my friend and honestly these were amazing. At first I didn't think the blush had shown up very well but looks can be deceiving with this one. It starts off very light and then the colour starts to push through, it turned out to be the perfect pink I had been looking for. The bronzer is very easily applied and less is more with this one, I ended up having to blend it out because I applied so much!

As soon as I saw baked eyeshadow I knew i had to have the whole collection. Okay, so I didn't managed to snag them all but I did get myself six wonderful colours.

From Left to Right: Limitless, Heavenly, Astral
I did use Limitless and Heavenly on my look for going out but I feel these two colours would be better suited for a more everyday look. Im very excited to try Astral out when I next wear my purple dress, it'll look great.

From Left to Right: Astral, Heavenly, Limitless.

All these eyeshadows seem to be very easily blended and the pigmentation is pretty good (it's hard to tell when you're going on a night out). They seemed to stand the test of time as well as it was still in perfect condition once I had woken up in the morning! For only a pound you cannot go wrong with these beauties.

From Left to Right: Blue Planet, Galactic, Starburst

Then of course I picked up four of their lipsticks. To which, again, one of them joined me on my night out. The colours are so pigmented, they're very moisturised and don't dry out your lips.

From Top to Bottum: Dazzle + Beloved

From Left to Right: Beloved + Dazzle

Now I had to get a statement red and this colour is simply perfect for those bold lip days.

From Top to Bottom: Dare + Enchant

I also got a couple of highlighters, I wanted all three colours but unfortunately the Peach Lights were sold out, (I really want this one!). However, I have got the other two and although all the hype is about the Peach, I think Pink has just enough sparkle to captivate any highlighter lover.

Pink Lights + Golden Lights

As you can see the Golden Lights is also a beautiful Champagne colour which I know a lot of beauty lovers go for.

Pink Lights and Golden Lights

Then of course I had to buy the eyeshadow palette everyone has been saying is a dupe for Naked 3. I can't afford Naked 3, (after paying rather a lot of unexpected bills) and have been lusting after those beautiful pink shades for ages. Now I have my own little version and I cannot wait to use this. Definitely a palette I will be taking with me to Ireland in a couple of days!

Iconic 3

Have you been buying anything from Make-Up Revolution? If so let me know if you think there is anything else I must have from this superb new brand!
That's if from me,

Favourites | May 2014

So it is that time of the month again!! My Favourites are here,

Revlon Colour Burst Lip Butter in Sweet Tart: I love this for an everyday lip colour because although its pink, it doesn't come out too bright so its perfect for that pop of colour on an everyday look. Especially as I wear minimal make-up to work this just perfects the whole look.

B. Energised Eye Cream: This is one of the good ones. I would say it definitely does what it says on the tin. As soon as you put this on you can feel it working and it wakes me up a little.

TheBalm How About Them Apples Cheek and Lip Tint in Pie: I absolutely love the colour of this and have been trying it out on the weekends. I'd love it even more if it was in lipstick format but this is so good I don't even mind!

Benefit Dandelion: For a light summer glow with the tiniest hint of shine, definitely a winner for daily summer wear.

Revlon Colour Stay Concealer; I have been using this bad boy every day. I try not to wear foundation during the weeks because I love my sleep, as I've said many a time I'm lazy. Getting up 20 minutes earlier just to put on foundation is not the one, which is why I love the coverage this gives as well as blending so well into my skin tone (which is very hard to do).

Collection Work the Colour Shadow Stick: Another everyday pop of colour. No brush, no mess. It's so super quick and easy to apply.

Loreal Super Liner: Although I am a fan of black liner I can't apply it for the life of me. I don't know why, my hands are just not built for it. However this has an applicator that (once you get the hang of) is super easy to use and is also very quick. I have the version for Hazel eyes so its a browny colour with a tinge of purple.

What have you been loving this week?

Books | The Three My Thoughts

I've gone and read another book, I know I read way to much but sometimes the imaginary worlds can be such a better place. Reading is definitely my go to when I'm feeling down, that or a really good film (Pirates of the Caribbean anyone?) However this being said I recently went on to bloggers required and had a little looksie what was on there. Low and behold I found someone wanting me to review their book. Now before I start I just want to make the point that although I've applied, got the book and now writing the review, all words are my own opinions and I am not being paid to say anything.

The Three by Sarah Lotz is possibly the scariest book I have ever read and I;m glad I only did it in one hour intervals, (damn my new schedule). When I started reading it I got totally confused and baffled by what was actually going on and the way it was laid out. It has a passage which is written like the beginning of a story and then moves on into peoples accounts of what happened. Four planes went down all in one day leaving no survivors apart from three children. After that millions of conspiracy theories came out and this book tells you about them all and what happened to the children. There are also parts in the books that follow the children and their families. Some amazing things happen and some down right creepy things happen and honestly I am getting creeped out just writing this and remembering what I read.

After I had read a couple pages (so like a quarter of the book) I found myself getting really into it and wanting to know more, until I hit the passages about the little girl Jess. I'm not going to include any spoilers but just know this book is very interesting to read. I finished it about three days ago now and I still can't decide if it was real or a story.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that likes these kind of things. Very well portrayed and definitely messes with your mind.

Let me know if you do read it!

Just One of "Those" Days

Sometimes we just get those days where we want to sit in bed, eat loads of junk food and watch feel good films. Life isn't always easy and it can't always be sunshine and rainbows, theres going to be a little rain sometimes. So for those days where you want to be a lazy sloth, cry and kick yourself, I've got some tips you should remember, and a list of my favourite things for these days.

Tips to Remember:

1. Water is your best friend. So suck it up and drink it. If you don't like if mix in some fruit, mint and cucumber, it'll taste better and is still good for you. It can also keep that pesky afternoon snack hunger away along with any cystitis problems one may get and downing a glass before bed on a night out will make you wake up a lot happier.

2. We can't be sultry and sexy everyday, so if you fancy wearing comfier pants one day wear them. It'll be much healthier for you too! French knickers and thongs have been linked to some of the problems us girls get, so keep that in mind for the days you really can't be bothered.

3. No matter how many times you tell yourself peoples lives on social media isn't real you won't believe it will you? When did you last post about that time you were all alone and had nothing to do? Exactly, everyone is just like you.

4. Sleep is good. Don't feel bad because you want to get an early night and everyone is staying up till 4am. So put down that book, save that blogpost for another day and get some ZZZ, it's called beauty sleep for a reason.

5. Nothing happens just like that, J K Rowling was 32 before she got published. No doubt she went through the stages we did. Just because you're not there yet doesn't mean you'll never be there.

6. A can of spaghetti and sausages is only 332 calories per tin (the big ones). So next time you're feeling a little down and out make yourself a quick meal, grab some frozen yoghurt (it's just as tasty but healthier than ice-cream) and snuggle up with either a good book or a feel good film that will take your mind off that god awful day.

7. Girls in relationships gain weight easier than those who are single, you're already winning.

8. Nothing says happiness like a pop of colour, brighten up that lip and smile. Take a few selfies, you know you want to.

9. Why not try a pamper night, run yourself a hot bath, put on a face mask and chill out. Not only will you feel better you'll also look great again tomorrow.

My Favourite Things:

Today I have had an exceptionally bad day, so here are the things i've got to make it end considerably better;

1. Mango and Mandarin scented Candle - nothing like making a relaxing atmosphere with a beautiful smell.

2. Mango and Passionfruit Frozen Yoghurt - nothing like tescos own. A tasty treat yet the healthy alternative.

3. Harry Potter - who doesnt like begin whisked away to a land of magic on a bad day.

4. Raspberry and Rose Lip Balm - smells, tastes and feels amazing.

5. I've also got a couple of naughty treats in my room, white malteasers and malted milk creams - yum!

I am also snuggled up in bed.

What do you do on a bad day?

Don't forget my tips

TV | Game of Thrones Episode 7.

Do not read if you haven’t seen the episode!

This episode truly shocked me. So much so that I can actually write about it. So far, bar the episode where Joffery was killed and the opening episode, the majority of the episodes have felt like fillers rather than telling us the story. Which to me is an essential annoyance.

It starts off with Jaime Lannister telling Tyrion what a great speech that was and how it would be talked about for days in one very sarcastic tone of voice. It seems everything comes in three’s in this episode. Tyrion started with Jaime, then Bronn, who both refused to be his champion. Jaime because he couldn’t fight with his left hand and Bronn because Cersi has paid him off by arranging a marriage to a ditsy girl who will inherit a castle – or she will once Bronn dispatches of her older sister. Humour only this character could give as we all still love him the same (at least I think he’s a brilliant character).

Then came the first shocker of this episode for me, Prince Oberyn offering to be Tyrion’s champion. I did get all childlike excited for this as Oberyn has always made it clear he hates the Lannisters and I like Tyrion (little bit worried he would have to fight the mounting himself!). The story he tells of when Tyrion was a baby is slightly tragic, as you can tell from the looks on his face, but necessary for the building up to Oberyn telling Tyrion he will be his champion just to try and kill the man who killed his sister and her children, tugs at the female heart a little! And is it just me or do they both look oddly attractive in the dim light of the cells?

The next shocker for me was Arya. This scene for me was the perfect way to show how far Arya had some, grown and shows that even though the Hound is trying to ransom her, they are in a way friends and protect each other. The Hound shows his nobility by putting a dying man out of his misery after a few lines of conversation, only to be jumped and bitten by, assumingly, the people who burnt the place down. If there were more we don’t see them, as the first man to attack gets his neck broken by the hound and then the second Arya knows. The Hound asks him to say his name and once he has, Arya’s quick hand with needle plunges the tip into the man’s heart. To which the Hound offers a friendly response of “You’re learning.” It did shock me because although I knew Arya wants to kill a bunch of people from her list, it was so fast and shocking that I was taken aback a little.

The bit I didn’t like is the way Jon Snow is treated at the Night’s Watch. His ideas are good and he always gets pushed down. The only reason he was allowed to go was because they thought he wouldn’t come back. Ghost however is a blessing, glad Jon found him. Elsewhere Daenerys shows that she needs Jorah’s advice. My want for them to end up together is now growing, especially seeing Jorahs face after Daario leaves her rooms.

Then the third and final shocker for me comes in two parts. The first I suppose is also two in one, Sansa is out in the snow building winterfell and Robin comes out to see. They start off with a nice conversation then he ruins the tower, she shouts and him and he proceeds to stomp over the entire thing. Sansa then slaps him in the face and he runs off crying. Petyr then appears and after telling Sansa his intentions, as she is so much more attractive than her mother, they kiss while Lysa is watching in the shadows. Lysa then calls Sansa to look at the moon door and threatens to push her down it. Petyr comes to Sansa’s rescue by praying on Lysa’s affections for him, telling her there was only one woman he ever loved – Catlyn – and then pushes her through the moon door. My jaw just dropped at that moment and my mother’s response was “Oh, what a nice man.”

Benefit vs Smashbox #2

Now I know we all love Benefits They're Real mascara but I've not heard much about the bad girl lash. While on the plane to Lanzarote I bought myself the Sizzlin' Six, which was a collection of Benefit Mini's and a couple weeks before that I treated myself to the Smashbox Try It Kit. Among the variations of samples both of these include mascara.

I was really intrigued to find out how different these were as the brushes look exactly the same. So for  my friends birthday we went to the pub and I put Bad Girl Lash on one eye and Full Exposure on the other. They both glided onto my lashes with ease and the only one difference I could see was that the bad girl lash separates more than the full exposure but it's not by a lot. When I asked my friends if they could notice they said no.

My personal opinion on these are that these mascaras are exactly the same however I would prefer to wear the bad girl lash for the pure sheerness of it. Benefit wins this round.

What can I compare next?
